On Day 3 we were there to be your eyes at the FWT

Ali Karoui

The ambiance was lovely and very glamorous, very organized too, such a perfect start for Ali Karoui to start the show: His collection was very Thierry Mugler  inspired, the black dresses with sequins and spiky  leather belts that gave the pieces a touch of Glam Rock!

Ali Karoui had it all: sequins, gold,  black leather belts and gloves, studs and spikes , lace, the zipper on the outside trend, either in the back of the piece or at the bottom, black glamorous dresses with the "fameux" thigh high split,  the leather jacket which is a huge trend these seasons and we've seen it in NYC, Paris and Milan's runways, and today in FW Tunis,  there was also an air of Chicago the Broadway musical with the golden dresses that had the twenties-style with the famous flapper but with Ali's touch, very glam / chic rock.

The makeup was basically a black smoky eye makeup and the hair was rock and roll appropriate: ponytails and short hair was slicked back. The closing was featuring a Bride: a white dress with a train, asymmetric with the spiky shoulders and the silvery Pumps.

Rayhanna

An accessories collection named Rayhanna designed by the unique Sondess Mahjoub Ben Moussa, this young designer knew how to bring modernity to a handicraft art. The collection started with a violinist on the runway with a modern / classical music, it set the mood for the first model to come out, she was wearing a tunisian Sefseri like carrying the Tunisian Koffa, something we almost never see anymore she took us back to the black and white past and brought us to reality at the same time with the touches of modernity the designer combined to the originally traditional pieces: Gold was the star of the collection combined with pearls, Jouher, black and orange precious rocks and different shapes, one of them had the earrings and necklace graved Allah,

it was simply B E A U T I F U L  ! With the koffa the designer added some clutches with different shapes, all broidered and very S/S appropriate, rings had their say too, they were statement pieces, I reckon a flower power pink ring and other Blue and orange big rings.

The closing was very beautiful and emotional: a ballerina dancing gracefully with the ribbon and having the Tunisian flag on her chest as a necklace, all in red and white precious rocks! Bravo Rayhanna !

Arrey Kono

Coming from Cameroun and installed in Germany, this designer was trained in the best fashion legendary places like Paris, Milan and Berlin, her collection was daring in matters mixing materials and fabrics: the black color dominated , with some Lapis and Royal Blue pieces, she used the scarves mania to accentuate the dresses and played with colors, but only 2 colors at a time, like the black dress with the long chiffon red scarf, the designer also played with layers, dresses with leather leggings and black  python printed ones, the blazers were Glam rock styled , and the skirts or the bottom of the dresses were composed of big polka dots made of a different fabric than the one the dress is made with, sometimes in an asymmetric way, and like I said the layers made a statement in Arrey Kono collection.

The Elizabethan collar was present to give the supposedly dull dress some special effect, a success. The makeup caught everyone’s eyes, it was Lemon green lipstick with a golden shimmer, a futuristic touch that melts with the whole Happy Vamp collection.

Seyf Dean Laouiti

It goes like this " I want to be a form of art that is beyond art itself" that's how the Narciso Domingo Machiavelli collection by Seyf Dean Laouiti a Taiwanese born designer who went to Esmod Tunis and Pékin's. There was this  filmed black and white movie on the screen featuring a young brunette talking to her camera and dressing and undressing and then the first model comes out with a very punk hair  with red roses on the side , recalling that the collection is named "L'épine de la rose"- and a matched makeup , she points to the crowd that she is the one in the film, the crowd applauds, and model after another are grooving on the runway, it was like watching a Victoria Secret Show, the models were interacting with the crowd and teasing the cameras, so much fun !!

Now to talk about the collection : the main signature was the black polka dots and lace tops that showed the bra, sequins shorts and blazers, Statement tops were huge feathery like with a belt to accentuate the waist and give a touch of machiavellic feminity, the colors used were black, red, coral and pastel mainly soft pink, we had so much fun and we were amazed at the same time by the amount of talent a young Tunisian could have, you could almost tell what kind of personality the designer has !!

The clutches were very chic trendy and Glam rock hot pink, red, printed and black, one of the cultch had Vogue sign on it, I loved it! There was what I call the Black princess whose dress was very fairytale but it was actually Black, lots of tutu and other fabrics mixed, another one was maybe lost from the Vera Wang bridal collection and seyf had her metamorphosed à la Tokyo style! The necklaces had the cross sign on them, which was very new and unorthodox. I adoooored the closing, I called her the Tim Burton Bride, she was wearing a black bridal dress, with black flowers and a big black  flower as a hat, very unusual, very Vamp, very machiavellic ! Seyf You really took our breath away!

Amine Bendriouich

The brand's name is ABCB that stands for Amine Bendriouich Couture & Bullshit and his collection is entitled "Winter in Africa" sarcastic? Yes it is! because with ABCB everything is Couture, Bullshit, Life and Death and that's how the “hors du commun" collection starts...

The models were men & women from many races, blonds, red heads, blacks, Caucasian and all bare footed, a pyjama party, you see oversized shirts and striped pants and shorts, there was the "tablier d'écolier" with the pocket at the back, men were wearing robes , blazers and pants all handmade by the Moroccan illustrator Yassine Mbel ! But Amine didn't stop there, he actually had the designer Salah barka posing for him on the runway wearing his designs, and the editor like Elisabeta Tudor and the another young stylist/ designer I can't recall the name all on the runway sharing and spreading ABCB's bullshit , and guess what we loved it  !
