Shirine Touma Jarjour & Hanna Touma 

MEF had the big pleasure to interview Mrs. Shirine Touma, the designer of  the renowned Lebanese Fashion brand  "Hanna Touma".

In this following interview Mrs Shirine Touma shares with us her inspirations, future projects and what she thinks of the Fashion industry in the Middle East ...

Tell us more about your brand, your design background and what made you become a Fashion Designer.

 We have two brands Hanna Touma (Haute Couture) over 40 years of experience and Miss T. By Hanna Touma (Ready To Wear) What made me become a fashion designer is the love to create something new.

What Fashion Design School have you attended and where ?

 First of all I attended ALBA university which is a university for architecture and interior architecture and graduated with honors but I always though that there is something missing so I entered ESMOD for two years of modelism.

How does your job as a designer influence your life?

Do you feel that you see things around you differently for example?

 Life is about style we ought to have a certain style in the way we dress ,walk ,cook ,brush our hair.

Your style is reflected in anything you do.

 Where do you draw your inspiration from?

 I draw my inspiration from everything Books ,travel ,poems ,even a single panel on the road.

 When you create something, what goes through your mind?

 I am happy when I create I can not wait to finish one design so I can start a new one.

 How do you intend women to feel when wearing ‘Hanna Touma’ labeled clothing?

 Comfortable and elegant .

 How do you see Fashion in the Middle East ?

Do you think fashion is getting the attention needed in the Middle East?

 Fashion in the Middle East sometimes is boring when there is a lack in creativity.

Can you tell MEF about your future projects ?

 Future projects are To keep up the good work in the haute couture and to expand the brand MISS. T by Hanna Touma all over the world.

 What advice would you give for aspiring designers looking to get into Fashion design?

 I advise them to be cultivated to read and make lots of research.

 Any quote that you could leave us with ?

 La couture c’est la conquête du détail.
